This morning began with a departure from st Francisville boat ramp where cruise ships used to dock. As I crossed I 110 I took a picture of the beautiful bridge.
After a while a cruise ship passed by.
It was a relatively easy paddle until the last switchback into Baton Rouge. The number of barges and tow boats were incredible. They crossed me a few times during my passage. And the waves were huge for miles!
I finally made the turn and was able to get to Baton Rouge.
From there there were a few switchbacks where the water flow seemed to slow down to lake speed. I paddled on and got to my pull out location at the sunshine ferry landing.
Happy Independence Day every body!
You’re sporting that Ernest Hemingway ‘The Old Man And the Sea’ look! Therefore, when you exit the Mississippi, you should just continue to Cuba looking for the giant Marlin.. And really complete the saga. 😊
ReplyDeleteI love St Francisville. Sounds like your adventures are getting closer and closer to the end. Keep paddling.
