After a good dinner and a good night sleep I was back on the river. There was no good take out place around the 1/2 way mark so I decided to camp again. I had another 60 mile day with not so much effort.  Other than dealing with the heat. I tried to find the boat ramp at Mayersville, but all I found was a truck with a boat trailer parked in someone's farm. As I was trying to get google earth to work, the owner of the truck drove up in his boat. He didn't know where the Mayersville boat ramp was either. But he did give me a beer!

I  found a place to camp on an island next to Transylvania Louisiana. Oh, by the way, I'm in Louisiana! Just one state away from the gulf! Anyway, I  set up my tent and as I was contemplating dinner a thunderstorm rolled through. After 20 minutes of being sealed in the tent it stopped raining.  So I was able to get out and enjoy the show along with a beautiful rainbow!

The good news is with all the storms the air is cool and there is a nice breeze. I'm hoping to sleep well tonight.

Less than 500 miles left. Let's hope we can finish this adventure soon!
