I camped out on an island just north of Rosedale.  Unfortunately it was stifling hot. When the air is the same heat and humidity as your breath, sleeping is going to be difficult. Fortunately, after a 65 mile paddle I was tired enough to fall asleep.  The barges was another story.  They seemed to be active all night long. But sleep I did!

Morning brought a beautiful sunrise!

So breakfast, camp breakdown, load, and on the river by 6:15. Since I crossed into Mississippi I have seen more houses along the river. I find that hopeful. 

Today barges were a pain. I had one squeeze to the far left, which left me with 50 yards between the trees and the barge. Never mind the 1/2 mile to the right. I was at that side because the channel marker was to the right. I was pretty heated.
