Today started eerily foggy. I couldn't see navaids or islands or other vessels. The picture above shows a fisher after I got close enough to see him. Fortunately the fog Burned off while I was waiting on my 1st lock (lock 5a).
The paddle day was a simple one. The wind was in my face but not oppressive. There were a lot of people camping on islands. Fishermen were everywhere. It was a wonderful day.
For the 20th day in a row I had my eagle escort. I even recognize their song. At one point I managed to watch an eagle swoop down and snatch a fish from the water. That was very cool!
Of the 29 locks I have gone through 8 so far. The last lock was #7.
After lock 7 it was a short 5 mile paddle to the campsite where Denean is residing. After arriving I packed for the next three days, prepared a few things for Deneans next trailer move and we went to LaCrosse to try a brewery and get some dinner. Turtle staked Brewery has so.e tasty beer and The Crow had some excellent food. So if your ever in LaCrosse, Bodega, The Crow, and turtle staked brewery are must visit.
Tomorrow should be an exciting day. Tune in to share in the excitement!
