For the 14th day in a row I was escorted by eagles. It's amazing to me that this close to Minneapolis I'm seeing eagles. Today's paddle was chilly at first,  but the sun warmed everything early. The wind was out of the north but almost insignificant.  Out of 14 days I've only had 2 days that didn't have winds out of the south. With yesterday's 38 miles, I was able to paddle all the way down town Minny. In the morning denean will drop me off at bohemian flats for my put in. This will make me avoid the 1.5 mile carry! The only issue is that lock 1 doest begin operating until noon. Maybe I can get 20 miles in tomorrow.

I had originally planned to paddle to Coon Rapids dam and going from there, through Minny, and down to South St Paul. With the wind helping/not hindering,  I decided to get to downtown.  That way the government will be surprised when I'm gone before scheduled.  Don't tell them!

Coon Rapids Dam

On the house keeping side, 1. I bought a new gopro so I can take good videos, but I can't get it to work. 2. I can't get adsense to work on the blog so I can earn beer money. 3. I waxed my blue kayak in hopes of providing it a small level of protection. 4. Because I'm out here I missed the wedding of the daughter of my friends from Clemson David and Fran Corley. Congratulations Caroline! 5. A friend of ours from Tiger Band passed away. Jim Oswald was my age. We went to Hawaii this passed December.  This one hits too close to home. Be with God Jim!
