Today's goal was to cover as many miles as possible in order to set up for an early launch into Lake Winnibigoshish.

I  started at the south end of Bedmiji Lake and paddled 2 miles across the lake (all that was required to continue the Mississippi). After the 1st mile the wind started picking up. The wind would continue to be in my face all day long.

The next Lake I encountered was Stump Lake. This is where the northern most point of the Mississippi resides.

Next I arrived at County rd 12 dam. That was an easy portage. What made this noteworthy was the amount of fish spawning.  They were everywhere down stream of the dam. The eagles were happy about this. As such I had an 8 eagle escorts for the next few miles.

The rest of the day involved paddling into the wind and crossing lakes. The lakes crossed are as follows; Bedmiji-2 miles,  Stump-2 miles, Wolf-1 mile, Andrusia-2 miles, Allen's Bay-3 miles(a part of Cass Lake), Cass Lake-5 miles. Did I mention the wind?
I ended up at Beckers resort, about 1 mile away from Lake Winnibigoshish. Let's hope tomorrow goes smoothly.
